Reach for the Clouds: A Crawl/Walk/Run Strategy with Kong and AWS - Part 2: Walk

In this video, we'll guide you through the "Run" stage of the cloud migration journey, the final step of our crawl-walk-run tutorial. By this point, you should have already deployed the monolith and Konnect runtime instance, onboarded the monolith to Konnect, deployed the Kong Mesh control plane and the on-prem mesh zone, and reconfigured the Konnect runtime-instance so that runtime-instance monolith communication occurs over the mesh.

In this final phase, we'll show you how to deploy the Kong Mesh cloud zone and disputes micro-services to Amazon EKS. You'll learn how to execute some mesh Traffic Route policies that will re-direct traffic to the micro-service, effectively deprecating the disputes feature of the monolith running on premise, and replacing it with a new micro-service running on a Kubernetes cluster.

By following the steps outlined in this video, you'll be able to de-risk and lift-and-shift connections during your cloud migration, all while modernizing your infrastructure and ensuring a smooth transition to the cloud.
