When I hear the phrase “Data Warehouse Optimization”, shivers go down my spine. It sounds like such a complicated undertaking. After all, data warehouses are big, cumbersome and complex systems that can store terabytes and even petabytes of data that people depend on to make important decisions on the way their business is run. The thought of any type of tinkering with such an integral part of a modern business would make even the most seasoned CIO’s break out into cold sweats.
At Talend one of my “Shadow IT” jobs is reporting on the component usage. Simply put, it’s because it is extremely versatile and useful. When I was first asked to write this article I thought, “Why not, this will be easy.”
Today, Talend announced it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Stitch, a self-service cloud data integration company that provides an exceptionally quick, easy, and intuitive experience in modern cloud environments. With Stitch, Talend will be able to provide both SMB and enterprise customers with a highly efficient way to move data from cloud sources to cloud data warehouses and buy in a frictionless manner.
