There was a huge amount of buzz about Apache Flink® at this year’s Kafka Summit London. From an action-packed keynote to standing-room only breakout sessions, it's clear that the Apache Kafka® community is hungry to learn more about Flink and how the stream processing framework fits into the modern data streaming stack.
At three full days and nearly 4,000 registered attendees, Gartner Data & Analytics Summit 2023 in London was the largest data and analytics summit in EMEA to date. That much interest in data and analytics thrills us, of course — but it was also exciting because it was one of our first major events following the announcement that Talend has been acquired by Qlik. There was a lot to talk about!
It’s that time of the year again! I’m still buzzing about this year’s Showfloor Showdown at Gartner Data & Analytics Summit in London, where I had the opportunity to showcase ThoughtSpot's AI-Powered Analytics. In the spirit of facilitating a side-by-side comparison, we were all invited to look at global flooding and weather station data, analyze the variables affecting these natural disasters, and present key findings to the crowd.
This years I/O can be easily summed up by just one phrase: “AI”. AI absolutely everywhere. Sundar Pichai started, mentioned numerous times and ended the Keynote by mentioning AI. Some of the main announcements around AI for developers included the general availablity of “Bard” supporting 20 programming languages and use of the “PaLM 2” based models with some like “Gecko” small enough to run on mobile devices.
